Nymphia Sedai tried to open her eyes but it felt like somebody had glued her eyelids down. Her head hurt terribly and her throat felt/tasted as though she had swallowed a dead bird. She finally opened her eyes and got up from her couch where she was lying fully clothed. She walked a bit unsteadily to the bathtub and filled it with nice hot water. After a while she undressed and got in. I am never drinking that much again she thought and closed her eyes. The light in her room was too bright to keep them open. Lying there with her eyes closed, the memories started to flow back in her head. Memories of a night not soon to be forgotten…

“Here Nymster, have a drink!” Taya said to her and handed her a glass filled with some green liquid. “What is this?” Nymphia asked. “Does it matter? It has alcohol in it!” Taya laughed and moved around the room to hand another innocent bystander a glass of the green stuff.

It had been that morning that Nymphia had received an invitation for that evening. It hadn’t mentioned whose party it was, just a place and a time. Nymphia had pulled her best green flimsy dress out of her closet and decided to go to the hairdresser before the party. When she saw Taya, she had only just arrived at the party, fashionably late as usual.

As she looked around, she saw almost all the members of the Green Ajah with a glass of the strange Green stuff in their hands. She really started to wonder what it was and took a sip. It tasted the way it looked; disgusting… “After about 5 or 6 glasses of that stuff, you don’t taste it anymore…” Eladari said while passing. She had a goat on a string, walking behind her.

While walking around, Nymphia saw all members or her Ajah, some in strange positions/situations, but that was nothing new. She saw Lyanna with her version of Jeopardy – Know your Ajahmembers!. She was standing on some sort of platform with a large board behind her and 3 young girls in front of her. They where the contestants. Nymphia stopped to take a look there.

“Ok, this one is for two glasses of green stuff! Do your best. And remember, it doesn’t matter who wins, we all get drunk!” Lyanna said smiling too brightly. “Ok, here it comes. Who is the Sister who can be best described with these following words: ’stubborn’, ‘man-loving’, ‘mint-tea addict’ and ‘in for a joke’?” Nymphia started laughing as she saw the puzzled look on the girls’ faces and walked on.

Taking another drink from her glass, she stopped again. From a little distance, she saw Mierin dancing with 4 men at the same time, and none of them had familiar faces. On the other side of her, Nymphia saw 2 other Sisters playing Twister with 2 Warders.

She walked on and found Olli at the bar, he was mixing loads of the green stuff she was drinking. She finished her glass and Olli poured another. “How do you like the party so far Nymmie?” he asked as she took a sip. “Well, I think I will have to drink a lot more to fit in. It’s a good thing I brought my roller-skates.” And with that she finished her drink and held her glass up for another re-fill.

She went to sit on a couch and took of her shoes to put on her roller-skates. After doing that she emptied her glass and let it be filled again by Olli before she also went to the dance floor.

Taya felt the light seeping in, though she tried to ignore it. She knew before waking that she had never had a headache like this one. Her stomach was what lurched her out of sleep, with its own strange form of lurching. She thought she might throw up her entire stomach, but it didn’t happen. In fact, the nausea passed with her first swoon.

Now that she was sitting up she firstly brushed a few bits of popcorn, and the stray lollipop, out of the folds of her dress, and then started looking around. It soon became apparent why her body was so sore. She had been sleeping on floorboards! Where by the Light…? she gaped inwardly as her eyes fell upon the strange man lying in the bed amongst tangled sheets. She tried not to cry out loudly at the sight of him. And I’m not even in the bed?! What kind of Green am I?

She whimpered slightly against her will as she got to her feet, balancing for a moment on them and her steadying hand. “Oh, Light…” she whispered, truly knowing what it meant to beg the Creator. I must find out how I got here! she thought, and suddenly noticed a boot sticking out from the other side of the bed. She blinked at the sight of her Green Sister and began to creep around to take a look. She clapped a hand over her mouth and nearly lost her balance. She didn’t want to make any noise and wake up that man in the bed! She had better get out quickly and leave her fellow Sedai, splayed out on the floor probably somewhat as she had been, to the mercy of this stranger.

“No,” she murmured, and the figure in the bed shifted and turned over. She would have stood stock still if she had been sober yet. She would not abandon her fellow Sister!

It took quite a while to get down far enough to shake the woman. She, of course, yelled out in startlement at being wakened, and Taya lurched backwards, finding it quite amazing that she didn’t lose her balance.

The woman mumbled some nonsense and Taya stopped even trying to understand what she was saying. She just pointed to the bed and then began to move towards the door. She tried not to weave too crooked a line.

Suddenly she became aware of Eos at the other end of her bond, and she just knew he was cringing. I’m sorry! she blurted through the bond, though she doubted he could understand her words. She didn’t like the thought of a cringe marring that pretty face.

Outside in the air, nature swarmed over her and it was all too much – so she raced to a bush and vomited.

Eventually she found herself in the Green Quarters, feeling very grateful that there were so few people about – or perhaps it was just wishful thinking. Either way she didn’t see anyone.

She was at Nymphia’s door, and wondered if her subconscious was telling her something. Would Nymmie know what had gone on?

She sighed and leaned her head against the door, and suddenly it fell inwards and Taya crashed into Nymmie, who had just come out of the bath and was now in her bathrobe. She didn’t look too pleased at the possibility that she would have to have another bath if Taya stayed near her too long.

Taya smelled. Very bad. Nymphia tried to get Taya on her own feet again. “Come on in Tay,” she said and moved carefully away from the door, “I see you just woke up.” Taya had her hands over her forehead and looked nauseous. “Yes…” was all Taya said while she stumbled her way to a comfortable chair.

Nymphia knew that what Taya looked like must be what she had looked like when she first woke up. Her back hurt, her head hurt and even brushing her teeth hadn’t helped getting the foul taste out of her mouth. What was that green drink? I really would like to know what was in it… she thought. Nymphia had found several bruises on her legs and butt when she was in the bathtub so she sat down carefully. Seeing Taya sprawled over the chair with her legs hanging over one side and her eyes closed, brought back another memory.

“I am drunk,” Taya moaned. She lay on a couch with her feet hanging over the edge. Nymphia tried to roller-skate to her in a straight line but that wasn’t as simple as it used to be. In Taya’s hand was a glass half full with green stuff. Eladari had been right. After a few glasses you didn’t taste it anymore. “Do you know what this drink is called?” Nymphia asked Taya as she finally reached her
