INTRO: Ahhh, youth. You surely remember what it was like being a new member at the WT. The giddiness, the spam, the new friends, the rampant flirting. Check out the Whispering Hole for the latest from the world of the Dormitories.

Hello, Warders, Aes Sedai and friends, and welcome to another captivating look into the life of our very own White Tower Aspirants!

The month of January started rather slowly as things got back to normal after the holidays were over. As of printing, there have been no new raisings or bondings this month, although a whole new passle of aspies took and passed the WT & the DM world class. Congratulations to Seafolk Sedai, Wolfie, Charis “Jr”, Locke, Lavinya, Onis OLeia, meercatman, Red 2111 and Ticondrius!

After the novices and Algai had left the Ajahs and Disciplines to their (relative) peace, life continued at its normal pace. The Kilane Cup competition for December ended, and the participants are anxiously awaiting the results. The word is that House Mosvani is winning by a considerable margin. However, at time of printing,all the numbers were NOT in, so keep your eyes peeled HERE

We have had several new aspirants including: dapianoplay3r, Horus, ed2funny, hegemonicretribution, ShadowKiller, reyoru, Faiyaa, Million and Marta Sedai. Make sure you give them all a nice, warm WT welcome!

dapianoplay3r is joining us from Australia. He plays Double Bass, and wants to have a film career. He is in his final year of school. He’s also joined the Illuminators Org.

ed2funy is from California. He is a college student, who likes to read,and does a lot of Community Service. He joined us from Shayol Ghul, and has now also joined the Black Tower.

Hegmonicretribution is joining us from the Isle of Man. (Guesses on where that might be will be accepted at our email address below) He has just recently graduated with a degree in phiophosy and has just started as an outdoor activities instructor. He loves fitness, guitar, philosophy and literature. Hisother favorite authors include Terry Pratchett, Fydor Dostoyevsky and Albert Camus. He wishes he was friends with Talmanes. (Don’t we all?)

Millon hails from Buffalo, New York. He likes to read, play X-Box and Wii, and bake. He’s a long time lurker, and first time poster, and is really enjoing the White Tower and DM so far.

Marta Sedia joins us from Serbia, where she studies Public Relations and works in her parent’s car dealership. She is working her way through WoT in English, as not all of the books are in Serbian yet. Pretty impressive, no?

Who did you hang out with as a Novice/Accepted? (2003)

Taya Sedai (4/14/03 8:53:10 am) Reply	Who did you hang out with when you were a novice/Accepted? I just thought about this the other day and got curious about the “DM generations”. Who were the first people you hung out with at DM? Who did you get raised with or nearby to? Who did you take classes with and who were your most memorable teachers? Who were your roomies, big sisters, little sisters, etc.? Who did you perform your first prank with? Blah blah blah blah. I think you get the message lol Here are some answers from me: My big sis was Tierney al’Casta, at the time a future Yellow. My little sis was Siofra al’Kinsella. My mentor was Lorelia Jhavelar, White Ajah. The first person I met at DM was the Don, in the old DM chat. He was the only one in there when I went in My roomie was Krystonia, whom I appear to have lost touch with! My teachers included Phrygiana Parrish (Intermediate Saidar is the one I remember, making swords out of ice and the like?), Karana Majin (Totally forgot about this one! Twas ASTOP!), Shandryll Accepted (OP-challenged I believe it was), Ahmae Sandora (fire weaves…can’t remember the name of the class. Oh! It was Pyro! That’s it! g Ahmae’s Pyro class!), Emillith al’Cuebiyar (Intro to Saidar) and Leonora Tremaine (I must’ve taken her Myths & Legends class when we were both still Accepted…? Ooor…maybe she was just raised…or something…argh!). I took classes when I was full rank too but those don’t really count for this discussion g I only remembered all of the ones above by looking at the lesson posts I have saved from my novice/Accepted days, so you may not remember as many if you’re an oldbie like me lol I taught two classes during my time at DM – the Forsaken, and AAA 101 or AAA 204 (the name varied, for some reason I can’t quite comprehend g), AAA = Aussie Aussie Aussie language class. That one was one lesson short, while Forsaken was 7 lessons long! Eek! My first prank performance was with Tania Ramsey, aimed at Tierney (it kinda happened by accident though). You can see who I first talked to here g My first RP was with Eidheann and Karolyn, both Accepted at the time. I got raised a few hours before Tania on both raisings – Accepted and AS. I think Leonora got raised a bit before me. Mierin got raised about 8 days after me or something, and Mandi a few days after that. My most memorable moments with my younger day pals were the bitch fight with Leonora, skinny dipping with Tan, Eos, Domie and Kaylan (and the whole partay that went along with that), chatting with Velocymey on various occasions, exchanging insults (friendly though G) with Verina, teaching my epic Forsaken class, burning all my class notes in one of the saidar classes, and, well, many things I guess G OOCly one of my favourite things to do was the silly RPs over ICQ between Domie and I. The only silly “RPing” I ever did that wasn’t at all serious but meant a great deal to me. Mmm anything else of note to mention? Taeadra DR PSW WT Div (4/14/03 9:09:08 am) Reply ezSupporter	Well, let’s see… My big sister was Meara al’Jade, at the time she was to be a future Yellow and probably one of the most kindhearted women in the Tower. My little sisters were Tiili and Liili, and our sweet little Arie was my first Mintee. My roomies were Raeyn and Elaine when I was a Novice, and Raeyn and Ali when I became an Accepted. Pranks…well I guess you could say my first pranks were aimed at Raeyn and Zania….we liked to have fun in our classes and would always end up doing something to each others. There is also of course, the infamous hawk incident with Swani, and then just before I was raised to AS, Raeyn, Jade and I dyed all the Accepted’s with light colored hair, flaming red. As for classes, I took Intro to Saidar from Karana, Inter from Lauralina Sedai, and Advanced from Emmie. I also took Ahmae’s Pyro class (to this day, still one of my fav’s), Spying and Manipulation, Water weaves, Spirit weaves, (can’t remember any of the teachers…I think Kaylan taught Water though?), OP, and a survival class (can still remember Tae’s reaction to Ceri’s jaguar..was that what it was? I was a Novice roughly at the same time as Myrlie, Liselle, Bronwyn and Nyna. I think Nyna and I are the only ones left of that fearsome quartet… cries My mentor was Aya of the Greenies and she was also one of the first persons I’ve met on DM except ofcourse Liselle, but I know her very well IRL so that’s cheating. When I joined Sabine was the MoNster and Kat was still Amyrlin. My teachers were Zania of the Reds for Intro, Swaniana then of the Browns (now know as Eldrenne) did Inter and I think Mandi of the Greens taught Advanced. Marce of the Gray did Seven Ajahs. I also did Aaolians great AOL class and Aelwhins Prophecies (I so wish I had saved all those posts) I got raised around the same time as Eriu and Arie (I think) Eleanor al’Raim Green Sister Bonded to Corwin I am a woman, it’s my right to change my mind

Also, ooh, I forgot about MoN and the like. When I came to DM Phrygiana was the MoNster, and I was her Eyes and Ears along with Tania. She even made us a really cool little siggy just for us and others who were her E&E g That was around the time I learned my first html – to make text italic lol Lorelia was head of the Welcoming Committee. I can’t remember who the Keeper was when I first arrived. I am pretty sure it was not Reile, but can’t remember who it was. Mmm. OH! I remember (Thanks to a very old email g). It was Serafelle! phew Yes, I rememberedddd! I rule!!
Cerianth Yellow Ajah (4/14/03 10:27:52 am) Reply	re I was roomies with Mellyn as a Novice and Accepted and I have no idea where she went. sniffles That of course is as Cerianth, but if you want to go waaaaaaaaay back when I was the original Daelin… well, I was never a Novice or Accepted then, and I was contemporary of Lanfir (then Green Ajah Head). I remember lots of people but I can’t remember their names.

Then we hooked up with Tohorah, Liselle and Eleanor that at the time was an Accepted. We had our fun BG i remeber there was a water ballon war at the time…. and it was a blast. Then Bronwyn and Tohorah got married and disappeared… that was a pitty. And Liselle was just gone at one point snif snif But luckly my sis Myrlie and Eleanor are still around! huggels them both tightly And i’ve got new friends and all huggles everybody Nyna
Eladari DR PSW WT Div (4/14/03 10:56:07 am) Reply	Re: re Mmm… I love these questions of yours Taylie!!! Let’s see… well, as a Novice I had my room-mate Tanya. And of course my mentor was Mierin. We got to spend lots of time together, and I managed to get into some trouble on the odd occasion. When Mierin’s RL took over then it was you, Taylie, that became my sub-mentor, and along with that was even more adventuring! LOL. As an accepted I got to know a couple Warders, and even got into the kitchens for a flour-fight once… but of course I can’t remember their names now. I taught my popular class Customs & Costumes as an accepted, and then was finally raised to the Green Ajah. As a Green Sister I am close with Taya, of course, and when Tanya was still around too. I’ve had about three minties pass my way, two of whom are still active, Ariana and Ashkara. I got to know some Browns, like Swani, rather odd for a Green sister . My first Warder was Talon Gaillard, a rather quick and unfortunate bonding. Since then I’ve kept a little more to myself, though I did get to know the Amyrlin Kathana a bit, and of course other Green sisters! And now I have a new Warder, Ceryn, a relationship still fresh and new! Wow, not bad as accomplishments at DM! I think I’m allowed to be proud. g Now, who’s next?
Arie Tarou (4/14/03 5:45:49 pm) Reply	well.. Letse. I don’t remember my first post, but i do remember that i found this site after i finished reading the second book. Um, the first one that i actually talked to was Raeyn Sedai on msn chat while i was still in highschool.. (if i had gotten caught with that.. i would have been in big trouble due to the fact that we needed teachers permission to access the net). My first roomiw was, and still is, Tiili Lind. We still keep in contact with eachother, smiles and is a very good friend. And then Jade. (i can’t remember how to spell her name, but i know that i have it in my skechbook somewhere.) I even took the trouble of drawing us. grins Tae was, and still is, my mentor. We didn’t RP a whole lot, but i still look up to her as younger As’s should. smiles And Arie had one other best friend other then Tiili, but i can’t remember his/her name. :S Classes.. i don’t always remember the teachers, but i remember taking the classes. As a novice i sighned up for everything. Which would explain being raised from acc to as so quickly. Inter, into, advance Saidar, all element classes (no joke), Customs and Costumes, Spy and Manipulation, Prophecy, Forsaken, Dance, Daes Daemar, Ettiquite, well, any class you name, i’ve taken it.. I juat can’t remember all of them at this point in time. Also i have a weapon score of 5, so there’s classes there too. I never really pranked alot, but i did rp always carrying a book around. Tiili told me that i was destined for brown, but the other best friend convinced me to go gray. that is, until i hit ACC. And then then there’s Daemon. smiles what can i say other then that i’m in love with him ICly! ^_^

I joined the Tower on 11/2/00, and was raised on 2/4/01 (I think, maybe earlier). Classes I took: Intro: Tania Inter: Lauralina Advanced: Emmie Ethics: Kathana Pyro: Ahmae Seven Ajahs: Sabine AoL: Sabine Spirit: Kaylan CoL: Sapphos Forsaken: Taya AAA: Taya Spying and Manipulation: Tiliana Balance and Agility: Paksenarrion BASC: Kartos Classes I taught: Creativity with the OP Ethics II OP Points System Chores I did: Cooking dinner: Meara Week in the infirmary: Reile Pulling weeds: Reile Chores I gave: lots of stuff with the hawk: Tae, Swani, Luanne, a few others Gardening: Luanne Let’s see, Egwainne was an Accepted when I was a novice. As were Trel, and Velocymey, and Dulcie, and Ebony. I was also Accepted with the last four. I’ve had four-five minties, but only Luanne (Gray) made it to the shawl. I was Reile’s assistant as a novice and Accepted, and the first NAC. Tae, Raeyn, Swaniana, and Zania were all novices/Accepted when I was Accepted/AS. I had one Warder, Gordal, but he went inactive soon after we bonded. Julannah was raised just before me, and Raeyn just after. My first RP was attending Verina/Hawkin’s bonding party, where I met my roomies. Other notable RPs were the prank(s) on Reile, and being turned over to Danera Sedai for punishment. Oh, and of course the Diary RP. And the Asha’man Embassy. And so far as I know, Muirenn is the only PC ever to refuse the Accepted test twice. I also retired Muirenn for a time and created Iriana, a novice who was a mute. But she didn’t last long. Maybe one day I’ll bring her back, but I doubt it. -Muir

Emma was my roommate. Minako, Trel and Emma were my closest friends. Miss those gals. Mina was gonna go brown! I was a proud member of the SPA and the Blue Kicks Ass Posse. And still am if they happen to exist anymore. I was an iniate or something like that of the Gruesome Girls. (Our fearless leaders were Taya and Tania) I posted a lot as a novice, and then as an accepted I was raised by doing projects. So I missed out on a lot. If I had to do it again, I’d definitely RP as an accepted. May the Chocolate be withyou! Everyone who knew her as N&A propably think that she was a total bore. Her only rule breeches were running late to classes because she had been absorbed to a book in the library. We found this secret chamber from library where was diary of a sister who had lived in times when the Tower was found. We didn’t submit the book to the Browns but read it on our own. The RP never ended, but the idea was to find some old weave descriptions and try them out. Sabine would have then caught us. This RP stretched and stretched so that Mellie and Muir were raised to sisterhood and all novices were at least Accepted. I think most of the participants have wiped this RP off their history. Kaylan Morin (4/15/03 7:18:49 am) Reply	Re: Who did you hang out with when you were a novice/Accepte I taught Spirit… and I want to teach it again, but not sure on protocols anymore… I joined a day after Taya, and I hung around with Taylie, Tannie, Calia, etc etc… I took almost every class I could, from the compulsory to the ones I sucked at (such as Pyro) and the ones I just thought would be interesting (like … Something and manipulation… Agility and something maybe? It was cool…) My major prankish activities were my skinny dipping party (with Taya, Tannie, Eos, Doman and Co) and nekkid twister party (Sabine’s Accepted party), my giving Calia a chore (painting my room) and then using her as the paintbrush and floating her down the halls, and so on. I remember Phrygie was the MoN, and Serafelle was the Keeper (she gave Calia her cat, Nemesis) and Kat was Mum. Then it went to Sabine as MoN (which was kinda weird considering I had played Nude Twister with her as a Novice) and Reile was Keeper… and the points system was in and my earned points never got used toward my OP score! And when I was raised I chose the Green and I remember being so nervous about what questions Kat was going to ask me to determine if I was suitable AS material! At first Tania was my mentor, but i don’t think she knows that. Lol. Then it was Reile. Reile was great! I miss her! I remember being so intimidated by her at first because she was the Keeper and stuff. Then she was “just” Gray, and became my Mentor. The MoN was Sabine. Aaah.. she was great! I miss her! One of the coolest things i remember is the band me and Lia started. Elemental Chaos. That was me singing, Lia on the piano, Kammers on her Saidar guitar and Bhanta.. i can’t remember. And of course i remember LEWS. LEWS was like the coolest thing EVER!!! Aaaah the insanity! Me and Cyndrid talked about that the other day. Light i miss the insanity! And then there was the Psychadelic Tower. That too was a hoot and a half. But not as much as LEWS. LEWS rocked. (if you wanna know it stands for Lunatics Even Without Saidin g) I don’t remember who had the different classes i took, except one where TaliAnn (A) had a class where we were out in the woods doing stuff. That was crazy. It was back when Accepteds had to teach a class to get raised. Umm.. i remember doing Intermediate, too. I rocked so totally in that class. Lol. Umm.. yeah. I think that’s it. I spent forever getting raised. I think i was a novice for like half a year (rl) and the Accepted for half a year. Light!

Kat was still Ammy, and Reile was the Keeper at that time. Elaine shouldn’t have left, she was my big sister, though she’d only been at DM for a matter of weeks longer than me.. eh. Novice Classes: 1st class: AoL class (Sabs, MoN of the time, taught it… and i didn’t even sign up.. i literally just walked into the class!). Intro 2 Saidar: Karana! (her last set, i think) Spammish with Juls! Inter: Lauralina Advanced: Emmie (hee hee) 7 Ajahs: Sabs, I think… Chores: 1st: Moving Juls into his new Aes Sedai room! YaY! 2nd: laundry for Tania? Those are the only two i remember right offhand….. Heck, i’m going to have to rake my brain as to whom i spoke with first at dm.. one day i just randomly popped up in the chat ranting incoherently about nothing, then decided to join when i got the welcome letter from Almindhra.. she was one of the first i talked to, cause i wanted a siggie pic. My little sister is our bouncy blue sister sammi/lola/etc, the cousin to the 1st of Mayene g I beat pretty much all of my friends to getting raised, beause instead of teaching a class i took on a project, being the white tower tags page… which has turned out to be a pain in the butt, because everytime i move it, the site people decide they don’t believe in image hosting grrr i think my dates went something like this: Jan 19th, 2001 – Aspirant (Novice within a day or two of that). Late Feb/Early March, 2001- Accepted April 2?,2001 – Aes Sedai of the Brown Ajah! And that took longer than i wanted it to! i was trying to beat eggy and jul’s records, which is somewhere in the month and a half range, but eh. Sheen was mine and Eni’s mentor, but i sorta adopted juls, sabs, and emmie as mentors as well. i think i probably annoyed the staff members of the Tower more than any other novice in history, at least on the ooc side… dunnoh, people seem less scared of them now than back in my day lol Terra was raised right before me, and Taeadra and Eni not too far behind me they decided to teach classes, i’m thinking.. sillies! g** My first mentee was .. geez.. she went white.. Tae? hep? The name is on the tip of my brain… um.. Farain, or something of the like? My second mentee was my mommie (Kwin), but she left me here all alone, noooo! cries I didn’t take another mentee for over a year, but recently i took Asura on the OOC side of life, and Emyli (Wedge) IC.. yes, i pushed him to his raising!! cackle!! And last i checked, i’m the one of the few people in dm history to be formally acknowledged as part of four different ajahs (brown, black, plaid, and the goth subajah). Sheen made us meet each other via email and look where that went! lol I had two roomies, Shannadin and Kristal. Haven’t seen either of those girls in ages. Reile was still keeper, Sabine the Mon, Kat was Amyrlin of course, and Karana Head of the Browns. thinks I don’t remember my classes very well except for the rediculous antics we got up to in Accepted Paksenarrion’s “Balance and Agility” (or at least that’s what I think it was called. The others I might remember if someone started talking about them but atm I don’t. I didn’t get up to pranks or anything…really didn’t do all that much RPing. Don’t remember any chores off the top of my head either except I think I got assigned to paint a room once, not sure though. Raeyn kept trying to make me go Black…which I didn’t thank goodness. I joined the Aiel first at DM so I’ve got more first time memories over there…I was a full warrior before I created Eniara so she at that time was secondary. Didn’t stay that way, lol. Rae’s right that I did teach…Borderlands if I recall correctly. I’ve done both that and Shadowspawn so which I did as an Accepted I don’t recall exactly. I was upset when Rae got raised before I because I’d been in the WT since I think Novemberish and she waltzed in and beat me to getting raised. I remember that it took forever to get raised because DM went down for it’s first real longer than two weeks hiatus since I’d joined. We were all trying to figure out how the heck to make use of the temporary ezboards and no one could seem to find my class. Hrm…what else? I started being a bug to Kathana on AIM once Raeyn told me she wouldn’t bite…Kat p’bly regrets that now. I did a fair bit of hanging out in IRC chat too for awhile. When Raeyn went away for her boot camp Myriam and I got acquainted and formed the group SoF (Suvivors of Fatigues) and sang “I will Survive” in chat for long periods of time, lol. That’s a long story to explain. Funny how much has happened around here in 3+ years, though we haven’t had the DM site mbs since that first downtime I remember and we still don’t.
